Chapter 53: Sītā Chastises Rāvaṇa
Text 3.53.4
त्वयैव नूनं दुष्टात्मन्भीरुणा हर्तुमिच्छता।
ममापवाहितो भर्ता मृगरूपेण मायया॥
tvayaiva nūnaṁ duṣṭātman bhīruṇā hartum icchatā
mamāpavāhito bhartā mṛga-rūpeṇa māyayā
tvayā eva = it was you; nūnam = surely; duṣṭa-ātman = O evil-minded one; bhīruṇā = [because] you are [actually] a coward; hartum = to abduct me; icchatā = who wanted; mama = my; apavāhitaḥ = [and so] you had allured; bhartā = husband; mṛga-rūpeṇa = in the form of a deer; māyayā = by a magical trick.
O evil-minded one, surely it was you who wanted to abduct me [and so] you had my husband allured by a magical trick in the form of a deer [because] you are [actually] a coward.
