Chapter 59: Rāma Chastises Lakṣmaṇa
Text 3.59.4
स्फुरते नयनं सव्यं बाहुश्च हृदयं च मे।
दृष्ट्वा लक्ष्मण दूरे त्वां सीताविरहितं पथि॥
sphurate = have been throbbing; nayanam = eye; savyam = left; bāhuḥ ca = left arm; hṛdayam = heart; ca = and; me = My; dṛṣṭvā = ever since I saw; lakṣmaṇa = Lakṣmaṇa; dūre = from a distance; tvām = You; sītā-virahitam = without Sītā; pathi = and You were on the path.
Lakṣmaṇa, My left eye, left arm and heart have been throbbing ever since I saw You from a distance and You were on the path without Sītā.1
1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa: bāhuḥ savya ity anuṣajyate. hṛdayaṁ vakṣo-madhyam.
