Chapter 59: Rāma Chastises Lakṣmaṇa
Text 3.59.6
न स्वयं कामकारेण तां त्यक्त्वाहमिहागतः।
प्रचोदितस्तयैवोग्रैस्त्वत्सकाशमिहागतः॥
na svayaṁ kāmakāreṇa tāṁ tyaktvāham ihāgataḥ
pracoditas tayaivograis tvat-sakāśam ihāgataḥ
na = not; svayam = own; kāmakāreṇa = by My will; tām = her; tyaktvā = did leave; aham = I; iha = here; āgataḥ = and come; pracoditaḥ = commanded Me [to do so]; tayā eva = because she; ugraiḥ = with cruel words; tvat-sakāśam = to You; iha = here; āgataḥ = I have come.
I did not leave her by My own will and come here! I have come here to You because she commanded Me with cruel words [to do so].
The second line is an elaboration of the first line.
