Chapter 59: Rāma Chastises Lakṣmaṇa
Text 3.59.9
प्रचोद्यमानेन मया गच्छेति बहुशस्तया।
प्रत्युक्ता मैथिली वाक्यमिदं त्वत्प्रत्ययान्वितम्॥
pracodyamānena mayā gaccheti bahuśas tayā
pratyuktā maithilī vākyam idaṁ tvat-pratyayānvitam
pracodyamānena = ordered; mayā = Me; gaccha iti = to go [to You]; bahuśaḥ = repeatedly; tayā = while she; pratyuktā = I replied; maithilī = to Maithilī; vākyam = words; idam = with the following; tvat-pratyaya-anvitam = that were filled with confidence in You.
While she repeatedly ordered Me to go [to You], I replied to Maithilī with the following words that were filled with confidence in You.
Tvat-pratyayānvitam (“that were filled with confidence in You”) indicates that Lakṣmaṇa was confident that Rāmacandra was undefeatable and never morose.
