Chapter 59: Rāma Chastises Lakṣmaṇa
Text 3.59.25
असौ हि राक्षसः शेते शरेणाभिहतो मया।
मृगरूपेण येनाहमाश्रमादपवाहितः॥
asau hi rākṣasaḥ śete śareṇābhihato mayā
mṛga-rūpeṇa yenāham āśramād apavāhitaḥ
asau hi = here; rākṣasaḥ = the rākṣasa; śete = lies; śareṇa = with an arrow; abhihataḥ = killed him; mayā = I; mṛga-rūpeṇa = who had the form of that deer; yena = He made; aham = Me; āśramāt = the āśrama; apavāhitaḥ = leave.
Here lies the rākṣasa who had the form of that deer. I killed him with an arrow. He made Me leave the āśrama.
