Chapter 62: Rāma’s Mental Confusion

कर्णिकारवनं भद्रे हसन्ती देवि सेवसे।
अलं ते परिहासेन मम बाधावहेन वै॥
karṇikāra-vanaṁ bhadre hasantī devi sevase
alaṁ te parihāsena mama bādhāvahena vai
karṇikāra-vanam = to the forest of karṇikāra trees; bhadre = auspicious; hasantī = in jest; devi = goddess; sevase = you resort; alam = enough of; te = your; parihāsena = joke; mama = Me; bādha-āvahena = it disturbs; vai = really.
Auspicious goddess, you resort to the forest of karṇikāra trees in jest. Enough of your joke—it really disturbs Me!
