परिहासेन किं सीते परिश्रान्तस्य मे प्रिये।
अयं स परिहासोऽपि साधु देवि न रोचते॥
parihāsena kiṁ sīte pariśrāntasya me priye
ayaṁ sa parihāso ’pi sādhu devi na rocate
parihāsena = joking; kim = what is the use of; sīte = Sītā; pariśrāntasya = when I am tired; me = with Me; priye = My beloved; ayam saḥ = this; parihāsaḥ = joke; api = and; sādhu = really; devi = goddess; na rocate = isn’t funny.
My beloved goddess Sītā, what is the use of joking with Me when I am tired? And this joke isn’t really funny!
