Chapter 64: Rāma Discovers Some Clues About Sītā’s Whereabouts
Text 3.64.69
नैव देवा न दैतेया न पिशाचा न राक्षसाः।
भविष्यन्ति मम क्रोधात्त्रैलोक्ये विप्रणाशिते॥
naiva devā na daiteyā na piśācā na rākṣasāḥ
bhaviṣyanti mama krodhāt trailokye vipraṇāśite
na eva = no; devāḥ =devas; na daiteyāḥ = daityas; na piśācāḥ = piśācas; na rākṣasāḥ = or rākṣasas; bhaviṣyanti = there will be; mama = My; krodhāt = by anger; trailokye = when the three worlds; vipraṇāśite = are destroyed.
There will be no devas, daityas, piśācas or rākṣasas when the three worlds are destroyed by My anger.
1 Therefore, there is no redundancy.
In other words, the devas and others would be destroyed. An earlier verse stated that they would be in distress.1
