Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 67: Rāma Meets Jaṭāyu
Text 3.67.11

अनेन सीता वैदेही भक्षिता नात्र संशयः।
गृध्ररूपमिदं रक्षो व्यक्तं भवति कानने॥

anena sītā vaidehī bhakṣitā nātra saṁśayaḥ
gṛdhra-rupam idaṁ rakṣo vyaktaṁ bhavati kānane

anena = he; sītā = sītā; vaidehī = the princess of Videha; bhakṣitā = has eaten; na = no; atra = about this; saṁśayaḥ = there is doubt; gṛdhra-rupam = in the form of a vulture; idam = this; rakṣaḥ = a rākṣasa; vyaktam = obviously; bhavati = is; kānane = in the forest.

He has eaten Sītā, the princess of Videha. There is no doubt about this. This is obviously a rākṣasa in the form of a vulture in the forest.

Lord Rāma implies here that [a rākṣasa would have assumed the form of a vulture and that he] must have eaten [Sītā-devī] because he was soaked with blood.
