Chapter 69: Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa Meet Kabandha
Text 3.69.32

कराभ्यां विविधान्गृह्य ऋक्षान्पक्षिगणान्मृगान्।
आकर्षन्तं विकर्षन्तमनेकान्मृगयूथपान्।
स्थितमावृत्य पन्थानं तयोर्भ्रात्रोः प्रपन्नयोः॥

karābhyāṁ vividhān gṛhya ṛkṣān pakṣi-gaṇān mṛgān
ākarṣantaṁ vikarṣantam anekān mṛga-yūthapān
sthitam āvṛtya panthānaṁ tayor bhrātroḥ prapannayoḥ

karābhyām = with his two hands; vividhān = several; gṛhya = he caught; ṛkṣān = bears; pakṣi-gaṇān = birds; mṛgān = and beasts; ākarṣantam = and pulled [them to himself]; vikarṣantam = he especially pulled; anekān = many; mṛga-yūthapān = leaders of deer; sthitam = while he stood [there]; āvṛtya = covering; panthānam = the path; tayoḥ = of those two; bhrātroḥ = brothers; prapannayoḥ = who had come near him.

He caught several bears, birds and beasts with his two hands and pulled [them to himself] while he stood [there] covering the path of those two brothers who had come near him. He especially pulled many leaders of deer.
