तत्र धैर्येण शूरस्तु राघवो नैव विव्यथे।
बाल्यादनाश्रयत्वाच्च लक्ष्मणस्त्वतिविव्यथे।
उवाच च विषण्णः सन्राघवं राघवानुजः॥
tatra dhairyeṇa śūras tu rāghavo naiva vivyathe
bālyād anāśrayatvāc ca lakṣmaṇas tv ativivyathe
uvāca ca viṣaṇṇaḥ san rāghavaṁ rāghavānujaḥ
tatra = at that time; dhairyeṇa = because of His tolerant nature; śūraḥ tu = heroic; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; na eva = never; vivyathe = suffered; bālyāt = because of His childlike nature; anāśrayatvāt = and because He did not take take shelter of the quality of tolerance; ca = and; lakṣmaṇaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; tu = but; ativivyathe = suffered a lot; uvāca ca = then told [the following]; viṣaṇṇaḥ san = in dejection; rāghavam = Rāghava; rāghava-anujaḥ = Rāghava’s younger brother.
At that time, heroic Rāghava never suffered because of His tolerant nature. But Lakṣmaṇa suffered a lot because of His childlike nature and because He did not take shelter of the quality of tolerance. In dejection, Rāghava’s younger brother then told Rāghava [the following].
