Chapter 69: Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa Meet Kabandha
Text 3.69.45
तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा कबन्धस्य दुरात्मनः।
उवाच लक्ष्मणं रामो मुखेन परिशुष्यता॥
tasya tad vacanaṁ śrutvā kabandhasya durātmanaḥ
uvāca lakṣmaṇaṁ rāmo mukhena pariśuṣyatā
tasya = of that; tat = those; vacanam = words; śrutvā = upon hearing; kabandhasya = Kabandha; durātmanaḥ = evil soul; uvāca = spoke [as follows]; lakṣmaṇam = to Lakṣmaṇa; rāmaḥ = Śrī Rāmacandra; mukhena = whose face; pariśuṣyatā = was drying up.
Upon hearing those words of that evil soul Kabandha, Śrī Rāmacandra, whose face was drying up, spoke to Lakṣmaṇa [as follows].
