Chapter 73: Kabandha Requests Śrī Rāma to Visit Śabarī
Text 3.73.1
निदर्शयित्वा रामाय सीतायाः प्रतिपादने।
वाक्यमन्वर्थमर्थज्ञः कबन्धः पुनरब्रवीत्॥
nidarśayitvā rāmāya sītāyāḥ pratipādane
vākyam anvartham arthajñaḥ kabandhaḥ punar abravīt
nidarśayitvā = after pointing out; rāmāya = to Śrī Rāma; sītāyāḥ = Sītā-devī; pratipādane = how could be obtained; vākyam = words; anvartham = the [following] significant; arthajñaḥ = who was aware of [Rāma’s] purpose; kabandhaḥ = Kabandha; abravīt = spoke; punar = then.
After pointing out to Śrī Rāma how Sītā-devī could be obtained, Kabandha who was aware of [Rāma’s] purpose then spoke the [following] significant words.
Kabandha points out the path to Sugrīva’s residence and departs. This is described in this chapter.
