Chapter 73: Kabandha Requests Śrī Rāma to Visit Śabarī
Text 3.73.2
एष राम शिवः पन्था यत्रैते पुष्पिता द्रुमाः।
प्रतीचीं दिशमाश्रित्य प्रकाशन्ते मनोरमाः॥
eṣa rāma śivaḥ panthā yatraite puṣpitā drumāḥ
pratīcīṁ diśam āśritya prakāśante manoramāḥ
eṣaḥ = here is; rāma = Rāma; śivaḥ = a beautiful; panthāḥ = path; yatra = where; ete = they; puṣpitāḥ = with flowers; drumāḥ = trees; pratīcīm diśam = the west; āśritya = stand to; prakāśante = are in appearance; manoramāḥ = charming.
Rāma, here is a beautiful path where trees with flowers stand to the west. They are charming in appearance.
From this verse, Kabandha shows the path to Ṛśyamūka with signs [to identify the correct route].
In the next two and a half verses, he notes the specific trees [on the path].
