Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 73: Kabandha Requests Śrī Rāma to Visit Śabarī
Text 3.73.25

त्वां तु धर्मे स्थिता नित्यं सर्वभूतनमस्कृतम्।
दृष्ट्वा देवोपमं राम स्वर्गलोकं गमिष्यति॥

tvāṁ tu dharme sthitā nityaṁ sarva-bhūta-namaskṛtam
dṛṣṭvā devopamaṁ rāma svarga-lokaṁ gamiṣyati

tvām tu = You; dharme = in the dharma of serving her gurus; sthitā = Śabarī who is fixed; nityam = always; sarva-bhūta-namaskṛtam = all creatures offer obeisances unto You; dṛṣṭvā = after seeing; deva-upamam = You resemble the Lord [Himself]; rāma = O Rāma; svarga-lokam = the divine abode [of Vaikuṇṭha]; gamiṣyati = will attain.

O Rāma, all creatures offer obeisances unto You. You resemble the Lord [Himself]. After seeing You, Śabarī, who is always fixed in the dharma of serving her gurus, will attain the divine abode [of Vaikuṇṭha].

GLOSS. [Śrī Madhvācārya’s] commentary on Bṛhad-āraṇyaka Upaniṣad contains the following statement:

svargaḥ suṣuptir ity ākhyā mukter api samā

Svarga can also mean ‘deep sleep’ or ‘liberation [from material existence].’”1

NOTE. Carrying out the orders of the liberated spiritual master(s) is essential to become similarly liberated. Prabhupāda notes this in his purport to Bhagavad-gītā 7.14 thus:

It is to be understood that the conditioned soul is tightly tied by the ropes of illusion. A man bound by the hands and feet cannot free himself—he must be helped by a person who is unbound. Because the bound cannot help the bound, the rescuer must be liberated. Therefore, only Lord Kṛṣṇa, or His bona fide representative the spiritual master, can release the conditioned soul. Without such superior help, one cannot be freed from the bondage of material nature.

1 Śabarī will attain the world of svarga according to text 25. “The world of svarga” means “the world of liberation,” that is, Vaikuṇṭha.
