Chapter 73: Kabandha Requests Śrī Rāma to Visit Śabarī
Text 3.73.24
तेषामद्यापि तत्रैव दृश्यते परिचारिणी।
श्रमणी शबरी नाम काकुत्स्थ चिरजीविनी॥
teṣām adyāpi tatraiva dṛśyate paricāriṇī
śramaṇī śabarī nāma kākutstha cira-jīvinī
teṣām = their; adya = now; api = even; tatra eva = there; dṛśyate = can be seen; paricāriṇī = maidservant; śramaṇī = female renunciant; śabarī = Śabarī; nāma = famous by the name; kākutstha = O descendant of Kakutstha; cira-jīvinī = a long-lived.
O descendant of Kakutstha, even now their maidservant, a long-lived female renunciant famous by the name Śabarī, can be seen there.
Śabarī was a maidservant of Mataṅga’s disciples.
