kabandhas tv anuśāsyaivaṁ tāv ubhau rāma-lakṣmaṇau

kabandhaḥ tu = Kabandha; anuśāsya = after instructing; evam = in this manner; tau = the; ubhau = two [brothers]; rāma-lakṣmaṇau = Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa; sragvī = who was decorated with a garland; bhāskara-varṇa-ābhaḥ = with the splendor of the sun; khe = in the sky; vyarocata = shone; vīryavān = the powerful.

After instructing the two [brothers] Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa in this manner, the powerful Kabandha, who was decorated with a garland, shone in the sky with the splendor of the sun.

Kabandha shone in the sky, waiting for Lord Rāma to permit him [to leave].

GLOSS. [The glossator reads bhāsvara-sarva-dehaḥ instead of bhāskara-varṇābhaḥ which indicates that] the entire [celestial] body of Kabandha was shining, and [that] the land and everything [else] shone because of his body.
