Chapter 74: Lord Rāma Visits Śabarī
Text 3.74.26
कृताभिषेकैस्तैर्न्यस्ता वल्कलाः पादपेष्विह।
अद्यापि नावशुष्यन्ति प्रदेशे रघुनन्दन॥
kṛtābhiṣekais tair nyastā valkalāḥ pādapeṣv iha
adyāpi nāvaśuṣyanti pradeśe raghu-nandana
kṛta-abhiṣekaiḥ = after they had bathed; taiḥ = by my gurus; nyastāḥ = hung; valkalāḥ = the wet bark dress; pādapeṣu = on the trees; iha = in this; adya = till today; api = even; na avaśuṣyanti = hasn’t dried up; pradeśe = region of the oceans; raghu-nandana = O beloved of the Raghus.
O beloved of the Raghus, the wet bark dress hung by my gurus on the trees after they had bathed in this region of the oceans hasn’t dried up even till today!
1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa: tad-aṅga-samparka-vaibhavād iti bhāvaḥ.
She implies that this is because of touching the glorious bodies [of her gurus].1
