सूर्येऽभ्युदितमात्रे श्वो भविता स्वस्तिवाचनम्।
ब्राह्मणाश्च निमन्त्र्यन्तां कल्प्यन्तामासनानि च।
आबध्यन्तां पताकाश्च राजमार्गश्च सिच्यताम्॥
sūrye ’bhyudita-mātre śvo bhavitā svasti-vācanam
brāhmaṇāś ca nimantryantāṁ kalpyantām āsanāni ca
ābadhyantāṁ patākāś ca rāja-mārgaś ca sicyatām
sūrye = the sun; abhyudita-mātre = as soon as rises; śvaḥ = tomorrow; bhavitā = there should be; svasti-vācanam = a svasti-vācana ceremony; brāhmaṇāḥ ca = the brāhmaṇas; nimantryantām = so call for this purpose; kalpyantām = prepare for them; āsanāni = seats; ca = and; ābadhyantām = hoist in every home; patākāḥ ca = flags; rāja-mārgaḥ = the grand road; ca = and; sicyatām = sprinkle with water.
As soon as the sun rises tomorrow, there should be a svasti-vācana ceremony. So, call the brāhmaṇas for this purpose and prepare seats for them. Hoist flags in every home and sprinkle the grand road with water.
