Chapter 3: Daśaratha Informs Rāma About his Decision
Text 2.3.46
तच्छ्रुत्वा सुहृदस्तस्य रामस्य प्रियकारिणः।
त्वरिताः शीघ्रमभ्येत्य कौसल्यायै न्यवेदयन्॥
tac chrutvā suhṛdas tasya rāmasya priyakāriṇaḥ
tvaritāḥ śīghram abhyetya kausalyāyai nyavedayan
tat = the news of Rāma’s upcoming coronation; śrutvā = hearing; suhṛdaḥ = well-wishers; tasya rāmasya = His; priyakāriṇaḥ = pleasing; tvaritāḥ = rushed; śīghram = quickly; abhyetya = to; kausalyāyai = Kausalyā; nyavedayan = and reported to her [of the happenings].
Hearing the news of Rāma’s upcoming coronation, His pleasing well-wishers quickly rushed to Kausalyā and reported to her [of the happenings].
