Chapter 3: Daśaratha Informs Rāma About his Decision
Text 2.3.48
अथाभिवाद्य राजानं रथमारुह्य राघवः।
ययौ स्वं द्युतिमद्वेश्म जनौघैः प्रतिपूजितः॥
athābhivādya rājānaṁ ratham āruhya rāghavaḥ
yayau svaṁ dyutimad veśma janaughaiḥ pratipūjitaḥ
atha = then; abhivādya = after offering His respects; rājānam = to the king; ratham = on His chariot; āruhya = climbed and; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; yayau = departed; svam = to His; dyutimat = splendid; veśma = home; jana-oghaiḥ = by crowds of people; pratipūjitaḥ = while being glorified.
Then, after offering His respects to the king, Rāghava climbed on His chariot and departed for His splendid home while being glorified by crowds of people.
