Chapter 5: Vasiṣṭha Prepares Rāma for the Coronation
Text 2.5.7
अभ्येत्य त्वरमाणश्च रथाभ्याशं मनीषिणः।
ततोऽवतारयामास परिगृह्य रथात्स्वयम्॥
abhyetya tvaramāṇaś ca rathābhyāśaṁ manīṣiṇaḥ
tato ’vatārayām āsa parigṛhya rathāt svayam
abhyetya = having reached; tvaramāṇaḥ ca = quickly; ratha-abhyāśam = the chariot; manīṣiṇaḥ = of the intelligent sage; tataḥ avatārayām āsa = helped him get down; parigṛhya = Rāma held Vasiṣṭha’s hand and; rathāt = from the chariot; svayam = personally.
Having quickly reached the chariot of the intelligent sage, Rāma personally held Vasiṣṭha’s hand and helped him get down from the chariot.
