Text 2.5.8
स चैनं प्रश्रितं दृष्ट्वा सम्भाष्याभिप्रसाद्य च।
प्रियार्हं हर्षयन्राममित्युवाच पुरोहितः॥
sa cainaṁ praśritaṁ dṛṣṭvā sambhāṣyābhiprasādya ca
priyārhaṁ harṣayan rāmam ity uvāca purohitaḥ
saḥ ca = the; enam = Him; praśritam = to be humble 2; dṛṣṭvā = observing; sambhāṣya = inquired about His welfare; abhiprasādya = blessed Him; ca = and; priya-arham = who was fit to be pleasantly spoken to; harṣayan = delighting; rāmam = Rāma; iti = as follows; uvāca = Vasiṣṭha spoke to Him; purohitaḥ = priest.
Observing Him to be humble, the priest inquired about His welfare and blessed Him. Delighting Rāma who was fit to be pleasantly spoken to, Vasiṣṭha spoke to Him as follows.
1 Technical note: saḥ rāmaḥ.
If the reading sabhājyābhiprasādya is considered instead of sambhāṣyābhiprasādya, it is indicated that Vasiṣṭha made Rāma happy by asking Him about His welfare.
