Chapter 5: Vasiṣṭha Prepares Rāma for the Coronation
Text 2.5.14
हृष्टनारीनरयुतं रामवेश्म तदा बभौ।
यथा मत्तद्विजगणं प्रफुल्लनलिनं सरः॥
hṛṣṭa-nārī-nara-yutaṁ rāma-veśma tadā babhau
yathā matta-dvija-gaṇaṁ praphulla-nalinaṁ saraḥ
hṛṣṭa-nārī-nara-yutam = with delighted men and women; rāma-veśma = Rāma’s house; tadā = at that time; babhau = shone; yathā = just as; matta-dvija-gaṇam = and intoxicated birds; praphulla-nalinam = [shines] with blooming lotuses; saraḥ = a lake.
At that time Rāma’s house shone with delighted men and women just as a lake [shines] with blooming lotuses and intoxicated birds.
