तेन चैव तदा तुल्यं सहासीनाः सभासदः।
आसनेभ्यः समुत्तस्थुः पूजयन्तः पुरोहितम्॥
tena caiva tadā tulyaṁ sahāsīnāḥ sabhā-sadaḥ
āsanebhyaḥ samuttasthuḥ pūjayantaḥ purohitam
tena ca eva = with Daśaratha; tadā = when; tulyam = along; saha-āsīnāḥ = sitting together with Daśaratha; sabhā-sadaḥ = the members of the assembly; āsanebhyaḥ = from their seats; samuttasthuḥ = got up; pūjayantaḥ = [he stood up and] honored; purohitam = the priest.
The members of the assembly sitting together with Daśaratha got up from their seats along with Daśaratha when [he stood up and] honored the priest.1
1. This is standard etiquette. When one’s worshippable superior stands up to honor his worshippable superior, subordinates of the former should also stand up to co-honor the latter.
