Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 9: Kaikeyī Convinced by Mantharā
Text 2.9.34

yena kālena rāmaś ca vanāt pratyāgamiṣyati
tena kālena putras te kṛta-mūlo bhaviṣyati
saṅgṛhīta-manuṣyaś ca suhṛdbhiḥ sārdham ātmavān

yena kālena = by the time; rāmaḥ ca = Rāma; vanāt = from the forest; pratyāgamiṣyati = returns; tena kālena1 putraḥ = son; te = your; kṛta-mūlaḥ = firmly rooted [in His position]; bhaviṣyati = will be; saṅgṛhīta-manuṣyaḥ ca = He will conciliate the men living in the city and countryside; suhṛdbhiḥ sārdham = with the help of His well-wishers; ātmavān = for He is in control of His senses.

By the time Rāma returns from the forest, your son will be firmly rooted [in His position]. With the help of His well-wishers, He will conciliate the men living in the city and countryside, for He is in control of His senses.

[How will Bharata become firmly rooted in His position?] That is described in the last line of the verse.

1 Technical note: yena kālena tena kālena.
