Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 9: Kaikeyī Convinced by Mantharā
Text 2.9.46

तवेदं स्थगु यद्दीर्घ रथघोणमिवायतम्।
मतयः क्षत्रविद्याश्च मायाश्चात्र वसन्ति ते॥

tavedaṁ sthagu yad dīrghaṁ ratha-ghoṇam ivāyatam
matayaḥ kṣatra-vidyāś ca māyāś cātra vasanti te

tava = your; idam sthagu = hump; yat dīrgham = long; ratha-ghoṇam = a ratha-ghoṇa; iva = is as; āyatam = wide as; matayaḥ = the workings of mind; kṣatra-vidyāḥ ca = your political policies; māyāḥ = various powers to execute the contemptible; ca = and; atra = in it; vasanti = reside; te = your.

Your long hump is as wide as a ratha-ghoṇa. The workings of your mind, your political policies and various powers to execute the contemptible reside in it.

Ratha-ghoṇa is a nose-shaped component of a chariot. The workings of the mind are manifold:

smṛtir vyatīta-viṣayā matir āgāmi-gocarā
buddhis tātkālikī jñeyā prajñā traikālikī matā

Smṛti (“memory”) refers to thoughts about the past. Mati (“speculation”) refers to thoughts about the future. Buddhi (“intelligence”) refers to thoughts about the present. Prajñā (“wisdom”) refers to thoughts about the past, present and future.”
