Chapter 9: Kaikeyī Convinced by Mantharā
Text 2.9.58
इह वा मां मृतां कुब्जे नृपायावेदयिष्यसि।
वनं तु राघवे प्राप्ते भरतः प्राप्स्यति क्षितिम्॥
iha vā māṁ mṛtāṁ kubje nṛpāyāvedayiṣyasi
vanaṁ tu rāghave prāpte bharataḥ prāpsyati kṣitim
iha = here; vā = either; mām mṛtām = I will die; kubje = O hunchback; nṛpāya = the king who has neglected me; āvedayiṣyasi = inform that; vanam tu = to the forest; rāghave = after Rāghava; prāpte = has gone; bharataḥ = Bharata; prāpsyati = or will attain; kṣitim = the earth.
O hunchback, inform the king who has neglected me that either I will die here or Bharata will attain the earth after Rāghava has gone to the forest.
