Chapter 9: Kaikeyī Convinced by Mantharā
Text 2.9.59
न सुवर्णेन मे ह्यर्थो न रत्नैर्न च भूषणैः।
एष मे जीवितस्यान्तो रामो यद्यभिषिच्यते॥
na suvarṇena me hy artho na ratnair na ca bhūṣaṇaiḥ
eṣa me jīvitasyānto rāmo yady abhiṣicyate
na = not; suvarṇena = gold; me hi = I; arthaḥ = do need; na ratnaiḥ = jewels; na ca = or; bhūṣaṇaiḥ = ornaments; eṣaḥ = this; me = my; jīvitasya = of life; antaḥ = is the end; rāmaḥ = Rāma; yadi = if; abhiṣicyate = is coronated.
I do not need gold, jewels or ornaments. This is the end of my life if Rāma is coronated.
