Chapter 10: Daśaratha Meets Kaikeyī
Text 2.10.4
सा सुहृच्चार्थकामा च तं निशम्य सुनिश्चयम्।
बभूव परमप्रीता सिद्धिं प्राप्येव मन्थरा॥
sā suhṛc cārtha-kāmā ca taṁ niśamya suniścayam
babhūva parama-prītā siddhiṁ prāpyeva mantharā
sā suhṛt ca = her well-wisher; artha-kāmā ca = who desired her success; tam1 niśamya = upon hearing; suniścayam = Kaikeyī’s pleasant decision; babhūva = became; parama-prītā = extremely pleased; siddhim = the result of her decision; prāpya = she had [already] attained; iva = as if; mantharā = Mantharā.
Upon hearing Kaikeyī’s pleasant decision, her well-wisher Mantharā who desired her success became extremely pleased as if she had [already] attained the result of her decision.
