Chapter 11: Kaikeyī Demands two Boons
Text 2.11.16
सत्यसन्धो महातेजा धर्मज्ञः सुसमाहितः।
वरं मम ददात्येष सर्वे शृण्वन्तु देवताः॥
satya-sandho mahā-tejā dharmajñaḥ susamāhitaḥ
varaṁ mama dadāty eṣa sarve śṛṇvantu daivatāḥ
satya-sandhaḥ = honest person; mahā-tejāḥ = who is filled with great prowess; dharmajñaḥ = who is aware of Vedic dharma; susamāhitaḥ = and who is very attentive; varam = a boon; mama = me; dadāti = has granted; eṣaḥ = this; sarve = all; śṛṇvantu = may listen; daivatāḥ = the controlling deities.
This honest person who is filled with great prowess, who is aware of Vedic dharma and who is very attentive, has granted me a boon. May all the controlling deities listen!
