Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.13
तिष्ठेल्लोको विना सूर्यं सस्यं वा सलिलं विना।
न तु रामं विना देहे तिष्ठेत्तु मम जीवितम्॥
tiṣṭhel loko vinā sūryaṁ sasyaṁ vā salilaṁ vinā
na tu rāmaṁ vinā dehe tiṣṭhet tu mama jīvitam
tiṣṭhet = may be; lokaḥ = the world; vinā = without; sūryam = the sun; sasyam = grains; vā = or; salilam vinā = water; na = cannot; tu = but; rāmam = Rāma; vinā = without; dehe = in my body; tiṣṭhet tu = be; mama = my; jīvitam = life.
The world may be without the sun, grains or water, but my life cannot be in my body without Rāma.
