Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.82
रममाणस्त्वया सार्ध मृत्युं त्वां नाभिलक्षये।
बालो रहसि हस्तेन कृष्णसर्पमिवास्पृशम्॥
ramamāṇas tvayā sārdhaṁ mṛtyuṁ tvāṁ nābhilakṣaye
bālo rahasi hastena kṛṣṇa-sarpam ivāspṛśam
ramamāṇaḥ = while enjoying; tvayā = you; sārdham = with; mṛtyum = as my death; tvām = you; na = not; abhilakṣaye = recognizing; bālaḥ = the boy who; rahasi = secretly; hastena = with his hand; kṛṣṇa-sarpam = [touched] a black snake; iva = like; aspṛśam = I touched you.
Not recognizing you as my death while enjoying with you, I touched you like the boy who secretly [touched] a black snake with his hand.
