Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.104
अनर्थभावेऽर्थपेरे नृशंसे ममानुतापाय निविष्टभावे।
किमप्रियं पश्यसि मन्निमित्तं हितानुकारिण्यथ वापि रामे॥
anartha-bhāve = intent on bring about a disaster; artha-pare = and selfish lady; nṛśaṁse = O cruel; mama = me; anutāpāya = to depress; niviṣṭa-bhāve = you are in a mood; kim = what; apriyam = cause of displeasure; paśyasi = have you seen; mat-nimittam = in me; hita-anukāriṇi = who does good [to everyone]; atha vā api = or; rāme = Rāma.
O cruel and selfish lady intent on bringing about a disaster, you are in a mood to depress me. What cause of displeasure have you seen in me or or Rāma who does good [to everyone]?
