Chapter 14: Daśaratha Grants Kaikeyī her two Boons
Text 2.14.42
त्वरयस्व महाराजं यथा समुदितेऽहनि।
पुण्ये नक्षत्रयोगे च रामो राज्यमवाप्नुयात्॥
tvarayasva mahā-rājaṁ yathā samudite ’hani
puṇye nakṣatra-yoge ca rāmo rājyam avāpnuyāt
tvarayasva = hurry up; mahā-rājam = the Mahārāja; yathā = so that; samudite = properly begins; ahani = day; puṇye = when the auspicious; nakṣatra-yoge ca = conjoined with [Rāma’s birth] nakṣatra; rāmaḥ = Rāma; rājyam = the kingdom; avāpnuyāt = can receive.
Hurry up the Mahārāja so that when the auspicious day conjoined with [Rāma’s birth] nakṣatra properly begins, Rāma can receive the kingdom.
