Chapter 14: Daśaratha Grants Kaikeyī her two Boons
Text 2.14.65
स मन्यमानः कल्याणं हृदयेन ननन्द च।
निर्जगाम च संप्रीत्या त्वरितो राजशासनात्॥
sa manyamānaḥ kalyāṇaṁ hṛdayena nananda ca
nirjagāma ca samprītyā tvarito rāja-śāsanāt
saḥ = Sumantra; manyamānaḥ = considering that; kalyāṇam = [something] auspicious [was to happen]; hṛdayena = in his heart; nananda ca = rejoiced; nirjagāma = departed; ca = and; samprītyā = in bliss; tvaritaḥ = quickly; rāja-śāsanāt = on the order of the king.
Considering that [something] auspicious [was to happen], Sumantra rejoiced in his heart and quickly departed in bliss on the order of the king.
Rāja-śāsanāt indicates that Sumantra understood that the king had approved [Kaikeyī’s request].
