Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.5
यानि दत्तानि तेऽस्त्राणि विश्वामित्रेण धीमता।
तानि त्वामभिरक्षन्तु गुणैः समुदितं सदा॥
yāni dattāni te ’strāṇi viśvāmitreṇa dhīmatā
tāni tvām abhirakṣantu guṇaiḥ samuditaṁ sadā
yāni dattāni = given; te = to You; astrāṇi = weapons; viśvāmitreṇa = Viśvāmitra; dhīmatā = by the intelligent; tāni = the; tvām = You; abhirakṣantu = may protect; guṇaiḥ = in auspicious attributes; samuditam = who are the best; sadā = always.
May the weapons given to You by the intelligent Viśvāmitra always protect You who are the best in auspicious attributes!
GLOSS. Guṇaiḥ samuditam indicates that Rāma has become pre-eminent.
