Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.18
प्लवगा वृश्चिका दंशा मशकाश्चैव कानने।
सरीसृपाश्च कीटाश्च मा भूवन्गहने तव॥
plavagā vṛścikā daṁśā maśakāś caiva kānane
sarīsṛpāś ca kīṭāś ca mā bhūvan gahane tava
plavagāḥ = monkeys; vṛścikāḥ = scorpions; daṁśāḥ = forest mosquitoes 3; maśakāḥ ca eva = other mosquitoes; kānane sarīsṛpāḥ ca = mountain snakes; kīṭāḥ ca = or worms; mā bhūvan = may there be no to trouble; gahane = in the forest; tava = You.
May there be no monkeys, scorpions, forest mosquitoes, other mosquitoes, mountain snakes or worms to trouble You in the forest!
