Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.20
नृमांसभोजना रौद्रा ये चान्ये सत्त्वजातयः।
मा च त्वां हिंसिषुः पुत्र मया सम्पूजितास्त्विह॥
nṛ-māṁsa-bhojanā raudrā ye cānye sattva-jātayaḥ
mā ca tvāṁ hiṁsiṣuḥ putra mayā sampūjitās tv iha
nṛ-māṁsa-bhojanāḥ = who eat human flesh; raudrāḥ = frightening; ye ca anye = other; sattva-jātayaḥ = cruel breeds of animals; mā = not; ca = and; tvām = You; hiṁsiṣuḥ = may harm; putra = my son; mayā = by me; sampūjitāḥ tu = worshipped; iha = here.
My son, worshipped by me here, may other frightening and cruel breeds of animals who eat human flesh not harm You!
