Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.34
अमृतोत्पादने दैत्यान्घ्नतो वज्रधरस्य यत्।
अदितिर्मङ्गलं प्रादात्तत्ते भवतु मङ्गलम्॥
amṛtotpādane daityān ghnato vajradharasya yat
aditir maṅgalaṁ prādāt tat te bhavatu maṅgalam
amṛta-utpādane = at the time [the ocean of milk] was churned for nectar; daityān = the daityas; ghnataḥ = who destroyed; vajradharasya = upon the wielder of the thunderbolt; yat = that; aditiḥ = Aditi; maṅgalam1 prādāt = had bestowed; tat = the; te = You; bhavatu maṅgalam = may attain auspiciousness.
May You attain the auspiciousness that Aditi had bestowed upon the wielder of the thunderbolt who destroyed the daityas at the time [the ocean of milk] was churned for nectar!
