Chapter 32: Rāma Gives Away His Wealth Before Departing
Text 2.32.35
तमुवाच ततो रामः परिहाससमन्वितम्॥
tam uvāca tato rāmaḥ parihāsa-samanvitam
tam = to him; uvāca = spoke [the following words]; tataḥ = then; rāmaḥ = Rāma; parihāsa-samanvitam = smilingly.
Rāma then smilingly spoke the following words to him.
Rāma sported a smile while wondering, “This poor man has a large family. How much money does he want?”
