Chapter 32: Rāma Gives Away His Wealth Before Departing
Text 2.32.38
स तीर्त्वा सरयूपारं दण्डस्तस्य कराच्च्युतः। गोव्रजे बहुसाहस्रे पपातोक्षाणसन्निधौ॥
sa tīrtvā sarayū-pāraṁ daṇḍas tasya karāc cyutaḥ go-vraje bahu-sāhasre papātokṣāṇa-sannidhau
saḥ = the; tīrtvā = crossed over and; sarayū-pāram = to the other bank of Sarayū; daṇḍaḥ = stick; tasya = his; karāt = from hand; cyutaḥ = thrown; go-vraje = on the pastures of cows; bahu-sāhasre = the many thousands; papāta = fell; ukṣāṇa-sannidhau = near the bulls.
The stick thrown from his hand crossed over to the other bank of Sarayū and fell on the pastures of the many thousands of cows near the bulls.
