ततः सभार्यस्त्रिजटो महामुनिर्गवामनीकं प्रतिगृह्य मोदितः। यशोबलप्रीतिसुखोपबृंहणीस्तदाशिषः प्रत्यवदन्महात्मनः॥
tataḥ sabhāryas trijaṭo mahā-munir gavām anīkaṁ pratigṛhya moditaḥ yaśo-bala-prīti-sukhopabṛṁhaṇīs tadāśiṣaḥ pratyavadan mahātmanaḥ
tataḥ = then; sabhāryaḥ = along with his wife; trijaṭaḥ = Trijaṭa; mahā-muniḥ = the great sage; gavām = of cows; anīkam = the herd; pratigṛhya = upon receiving; moditaḥ = became delighted; yaśaḥ-bala-prīti-sukha-upabṛṁhaṇīḥ = that increase fame, strength, satisfaction and happiness; tadā = then; āśiṣaḥ = benedictions; pratyavadan = he responded by uttering; mahā-ātmanaḥ = upon the great soul Rāma.
Then the great sage Trijaṭa, along with his wife, became delighted upon receiving the herd of cows. He then responded by uttering benedictions upon the great soul Rāma that increase fame, strength, satisfaction and happiness.
1 That Lord Rāmacandra could be jovial with Trijaṭa in the midst of a major catastrophe in His life is a demonstration for us that we should endeavor to discipline ourselves to become cool-headed while carrying out our material duties.
That he was delighted [upon receiving the cows] indicates that he did not require anything else [from Rāmacandra]. He uttered the benedictions when he took leave [of Rāma].1
