Chapter 33: Rāma, Sītā and Lakṣmaṇa Depart to Meet Daśaratha
Text 2.33.2
ततो गृहीते दुष्प्रेक्षे त्वशोभेतां तदायुधे।
मालादामभिराबद्धे सीतया समलङ्कते॥
tato gṛhīte duṣprekṣe tv aśobhetāṁ tad-āyudhe
mālā-dāmabhir ābaddhe sītayā samalaṅkṛte
tataḥ gṛhīte = that They had taken; duṣprekṣe tu = were difficult to be seen; aśobhetām = those weapons shone brilliantly; tat-āyudhe = the weapons; mālā-dāmabhiḥ = with many garlands; ābaddhe = they had been tied up; sītayā = by Sītā-devī; samalaṅkṛte = and decorated with sandalwood pulp and so on.
The weapons that They had taken were difficult to be seen. They had been tied up with many garlands and decorated by Sītā-devī with sandalwood pulp and so on. Those weapons shone brilliantly.
The weapons here refer to Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa’s bows, swords and so on.
