समुद्धृत निधानानि परिध्वस्ताजिराणि च।
उपात्तधनधान्यानि हृतसाराणि सर्वशः॥
रजसाभ्यवकीर्णानि परित्यक्तानि दैवतैः।
मूषकैः परिधावद्भिरुद्बिलैरावृतानि च॥
अपेतोदकधूमानि हीनसम्मार्जनानि च।
प्रनष्टबलिकर्मेज्यामत्रहोमजपानि च॥
दुष्कालेनेव भग्नानि भिन्नभाजनवन्ति च।
अस्मत्त्यक्तानि वेश्मानि कैकेयी प्रतिपद्यताम्॥
samuddhṛta-nidhānāni paridhvastājirāṇi ca
upātta-dhana-dhānyāni hṛta-sārāṇi sarvaśaḥ
rajasābhyavakīrṇāni parityaktāni daivataiḥ
mūṣakaiḥ paridhāvadbhir udbilair āvṛtāni ca
apetodaka-dhūmāni hīna-sammārjanāni ca
pranaṣṭa-bali-karmejyā-mantra-homa-japāni ca
duṣkāleneva bhagnāni bhinna-bhājanavanti ca
asmat-tyaktāni veśmāni kaikeyī pratipadyatām
samuddhṛta-nidhānāni = those homes would have all valuables brought out in the open; paridhvasta-ajirāṇi ca = their courtyards would be broken apart 7; upātta-dhana-dhānyāni = the cows, secured ornaments, gold coins, grains and so on would be stolen; hṛta-sārāṇi = the essential items such as beds and seats would be taken away; sarvaśaḥ = all; rajasā = by dust; abhyavakīrṇāni = scattered over; parityaktāni = those homes would have been abandoned; daivataiḥ = by the home deities; mūṣakaiḥ = with rats; paridhāvadbhiḥ = running all over; udbilaiḥ = from their holes in the ground; āvṛtāni = be filled; ca = and; apeta-udaka-dhūmāni = the homes would be neither sprinkled with water nor filled with [auspicious] smoke; hīna-sammārjanāni ca = those homes would not be cleansed at all; pranaṣṭa-bali-karma-ijyā-mantra-homa-japāni ca = the performance of daily offerings, ritual observances, worship, mantra chanting, fire sacrifice and Vedic utterances in the home would have been fully destroyed; duṣkālena = it was a time of adversity; iva = as if; bhagnāni = they would be broken down; bhinna-bhājanavanti = they would contain broken vessels and utensils; ca = also; asmat-tyaktāni = rejected by us; veśmāni = the homes; kaikeyī = Kaikeyī; pratipadyatām = let get.
Let Kaikeyī get the homes rejected by us. Those homes would have all valuables brought out in the open. Their courtyards would be broken apart. The cows, secured ornaments, gold coins, grains and so on would be stolen. All the essential items such as beds and seats would be taken away. Scattered over by dust, those homes would have been abandoned by the home deities and be filled with rats running all over from their holes in the ground. The homes would be neither sprinkled with water nor filled with [auspicious] smoke. Those homes would not be cleansed at all. The performances of daily offerings, ritual observances, worship, mantra chanting, fire sacrifices and Vedic utterances in the homes would have been fully destroyed.
