Text 2.33.22

वनं नगरमेवास्तु येने गच्छति राघवः।
अस्माभिश्च परित्यक्तं पुरं सम्पद्यतां वनम्॥

vanaṁ nagaram evāstu yena gacchati rāghavaḥ
asmābhiś ca parityaktaṁ puraṁ sampadyatāṁ vanam

vanam = the forest; nagaram eva = a city; astu = will be; yena = through which; gacchati = travels; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; asmābhiḥ = by us; ca = and; parityaktam = abandoned; puram = the city; sampadyatām = will become; vanam = a forest.

The forest through which Rāghava travels will be a city, and the city abandoned by us will become a forest.1

1 Due to their deep and pure love for Lord Rāma, they are revealing the truth that all happiness lies in serving the Supreme Lord who loves us more than He loves even Himself. Therefore, there is no need to worry about one’s own material comforts. Conditioned souls do not understand this and therefore the scriptures explain this repeatedly in many different ways.
