Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 35: Furious Sumantra Criticizes Kaikeyī
Text 2.35.11

na hi = no; te = in your; viṣaye = land 1; kaścit brāhmaṇaḥ = brāhmaṇa; vastum = to live; arhati = deserves; tādṛśam = such that; tvam = you; amaryādam = that is devoid of proper conduct; adya = now; karma = an act; cikīrṣasi = wish to perform.

Now you wish to perform such an act that is devoid of proper conduct that no brāhmaṇa deserves to live in your land.

Here “No brāhmaṇa deserves to live in your land” actually means “No brāhmaṇa or gentleman deserves to live in your land.” Sumantra points out that the land governed by Kaikeyī was fit to be rejected by brāhmaṇas [and gentlemen]. “Proper conduct” here refers to coronating the eldest prince and so on.
