Chapter 39: Kausalyā Instructs Sītā
Text 2.39.9
संज्ञां तु प्रतिलभ्यैव मुहूर्तात्स महीपतिः।
नेत्राभ्यामश्रुपूर्णाभ्यां सुमन्त्रमिदमब्रवीत्॥
saṁjñāṁ tu pratilabhyaiva muhūrtāt sa mahī-patiḥ
netrābhyām aśru-pūrṇābhyāṁ sumantram idam abravīt
saṁjñām tu = his consciousness; pratilabhya eva = regained; muhūrtāt = after a short while; saḥ mahī-patiḥ = the king; netrābhyām = with eyes; aśru-pūrṇābhyām = full of tears; sumantram = to Sumantra; idam = the following; abravīt = he spoke.
After a short while, the king regained his consciousness. With eyes full of tears, he spoke the following to Sumantra.
