Chapter 43: Kausalyā Laments for Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā
Text 2.43.10
श्रुत्वैवोपस्थितौ वीरौ कदायोध्या भविष्यति।
यशस्विनी हृष्टजना सूच्छ्रितध्वजमालिनी॥
śrutvaivopasthitau vīrau kadāyodhyā bhaviṣyati
yaśasvinī hṛṣṭa-janā sūcchrita-dhvaja-mālinī
śrutvā eva = upon hearing that; upasthitau = have arrived nearby; vīrau = those two heroes; kadā = when; ayodhyā = the city of Ayodhyā; bhaviṣyati = will; yaśasvinī = become illustrious; hṛṣṭa-janā = with delighted residents; sūcchrita-dhvaja-mālinī = and have rows of flags hoisted far above.
When will the city of Ayodhyā become illustrious with delighted residents and have rows of flags hoisted far above upon hearing that those two heroes have arrived nearby?
