Chapter 45: The Brāhmaṇas from Ayodhyā Follow Rāma
Text 2.45.10
न च तप्येद्यथा चासौ वनवासं गते मयि।
महाराजस्तथा कार्यो मम प्रियचिकीर्षया॥
na ca tapyed yathā cāsau vana-vāsaṁ gate mayi
mahā-rājas tathā kāryo mama priya-cikīrṣayā
na ca = not; tapyet = will be distressed; yathā ca = by which; asau = the; vana-vāsam = to reside in the forest; gate = have gone; mayi = when I; mahā-rājaḥ = Mahārāja; tathā = that; kāryaḥ = please do; mama priya-cikīrṣayā = to please Me.
When I have gone to reside in the forest, please do that by which the Mahārāja will not be distressed, to please Me.
